How do I?

Parking?

There is communal parking outside the property either directly outside on the cul-de-sac or just next to this in a communal car park. There are no fees for using this and spaces are on a first come, first served basis. There are always spaces though and I never have problems parking.

Watch TV?

There is a 65" TV with a Denon Atmos sound bar installed. Turn both on to start watching. It has netflix, amazon prime TV, BBC iplayer, Plex (this is a streaming app connected to my personal PC so plenty of media on there you will not find on the other channels if it doesn't buffer or stutter). There is the usual freeview channel service. You are free to connect up other HDMI devices to the TV, there is a HDMI multi selector box to connect to so you don't have to move the TV around. Connect the device, select HDMI input on the TV remote and press the device selector button on the multi selector until you find your device (number 1 is for a DVD player). There is a selection of old but gold DVDs provided in the house.

Use broadband?

The house has unlimited fibre broadband, the code for this is taped inside one of the kitchen cupboard doors over the washing machine area.

Use the shower?

The shower is above the bath and is a power shower so just turn the dial for the right temperature. Please open the window in the room for a couple of hours afterwards even in winter. There is a towel rail for drying towels, please don't hang them on the backs of doors and create damp and mould in the house.

Control the heating?

Each room benefits from infrared heating panels, these are ceiling mounted except in the single bedroom which is wall mounted. Each one has it's own remote control, just set the temperature after turning them on with the remote. The temperature is measured on the remote so leave it in the room! There are thermal lined curtains in each room, keeping these closed will help keep the rooms warm in winter and cooler in summer. Close the one between the kitchen and hallway to keep the warmth in the main living space.

Cook?

The house has all the usual kitchen gadgets, kettle, cooker, microwave, toaster etc. There is the usual selection of cooking pans, dishes, plates, cutlery and implements in the drawers and cupboards. Please keep on top of the washing up! There are 2 bins, one for recycling of metal, plastic, paper, card and glass, the other for general waste.

Wash my clothes?

There is a standard washing machine in the kitchen. In the upstairs cupboard on the landing there is a clothes basket per room, each has several spare bed sheets and duvet/pillow covers in. There are spare towels in the boiler cupboard next to the bathroom. There is a laundry basket in the upstairs cupboard. Once your washing is done, you can either peg it out on the line outside or use the tumble dryer in the outbuilding. This is a vented one, so no need to empty water etc. Please do not dry anything in the house except the towel rail in the bathroom with the window open.
